Choosing topics and products

The ReviewExpo Editorial Team picks topics that readers are likely to find useful and that people are searching for. For product guides, we also look at whether a product is currently available to buy, since a recommendation for something that cannot be found helps nobody. Topics cover cameras and audio-video equipment, from lenses and microphones to monitors and speakers.

How we research

Research starts with manufacturer specifications and public product information. We add aggregated buyer feedback to see what owners commonly praise or complain about. There is no lab testing and no hands-on testing behind our pages. A ReviewExpo page reports what is published and what buyers say, and it should be read that way.

How drafts are written and checked

Drafts are written with AI writing tools. This is a normal part of how the site works. Every page is then reviewed by our editorial team before it is published, with attention to whether claims match the sources, whether the wording is clear and whether anything is stated more firmly than the evidence allows.

What we aim for in every page

Each page should answer a clear question for a reader who is deciding what to buy or how a feature works. That means stating specifications as the manufacturer gives them, saying when a claim comes from the maker rather than from owners, and keeping opinions out of places where a fact belongs. Where information conflicts between sources, we prefer the manufacturer’s own documentation and say so when the difference matters. Where we simply do not know, we leave the point out instead of guessing.

We also avoid describing how a product feels or performs in a way that suggests first-hand use. If a point comes from buyer reviews, the wording makes that clear, for example by saying owners commonly report it.

Commissions and independence

ReviewExpo earns affiliate commissions through Amazon links, and that is explained on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Commissions never decide what is recommended. A product is included because it fits the topic and the research, and its description does not soften or sharpen depending on whether a link pays.

Reviewing and updating

Gear changes, so pages are revisited from time to time. The team looks again when a manufacturer releases a replacement model, when specifications are corrected, or when a reader reports a problem. Not every page is updated on a fixed schedule, and the date on a page should be read with that in mind.

Reporting an error

If you find a mistake, email editorial@reviewexpo.com with the page address and a note on what is wrong. We check it against the manufacturer’s information and fix what needs fixing. More about the site is on the About Us page.
